With more charm, elegance, and humour, a better Ritchie movie might have made the ridiculous idea into an entertaining adventure. Yet everything in this place operates automatically. The movie fails to successfully establish Statham as the gritty badass it wants him to be because he is underused. It’s not so much that the actors don’t get along, but rather that the movie doesn’t care to create any discernible relationship between their characters, which leaves the clumsy conversation floundering.
