Karnataka Government has re-launched Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana after an interval of 2 years. This information was shared by officials on 13 May 2022 Under the scheme, mass weddings will be held on April 28, May 11 and May 25 at selected A Division temples.
Beneficiaries under this scheme will get Rs. 55,000 including 8 gram gold bag Mangalsutra. And the bride will be given 10000 rupees and the groom 5000 rupees. One of the major benefits of this scheme is the provision of mass marriages for the poor people of the state. The main objective of this project is to prevent lower and middle class families from falling into financial crisis due to huge expenditure. Beneficiaries have to register themselves in the temple 30 days in advance with the required documents.
