Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana 2022 About

The Government of Karnataka has introduced Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana for the benefit of the citizens. You can also call this plan a mass wedding plan. The Government has informed that the benefits of this scheme will be provided to all the beneficiaries eligible under Muzrai Mass Marriage Scheme. This scheme will be offered to those candidates who are unable to continue their marriage due to their financial constraints. Through this scheme, mass marriage will be arranged for the willing beneficiaries.

The government has re-launched the scheme after a gap of two years. And this information was shared by the authorities on 13th May 2022 by the government. Under this scheme mass marriages will be conducted on 28th April, 11th May, 25th May in selected A Division temples. The plan was put on hold by the government in 2019 during the coronavirus. In fact, the main objective of this scheme is to prevent lower and middle class families from falling into financial crisis due to huge expenditure.

Objective of Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana

The Karnataka government has re-launched the Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana after a gap of two years. The purpose of this scheme is to prevent the lower and middle class families of the state from falling into financial crisis due to huge expenditure. 55000 rupees including 8 grams of gold mangalsutra will be given through this scheme. And the bride will be given 10000 rupees and the groom will be given 5000 rupees. Through this scheme mass marriages will be arranged in the temples of section A. The selected temples of this scheme include Banashankari, Gavi gangadhareshwara, kadu Malleshwara, and Dodda Ganapathi, etc.

Restart of Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana

After a gap of 2 years, the Karnataka government has decided to restart the scheme. In 2019, the plan was put on hold for the coronavirus. Through this scheme, lower and middle class families will be prevented from falling into financial crisis due to big brothers. Under this scheme mass marriages will be conducted on 28th April, 11th May, 25th May in selected A Division temples. Beneficiaries will be provided financial assistance through this scheme.

The government has informed that in order to avail the benefits of this scheme, couples have to register their name in the temple along with the required documents 30 days in advance. The scheme will provide Rs 55,000 including 8 gram gold bag Mangalsutra, Rs 10,000 to the bride and Rs 5,000 to the groom. The bride should be over 18 years of age and the groom should be over 21 years of age to avail the benefits of this scheme.

The Eligibility Criteria issued by the State Government under this scheme are –

• The applicant should be a permanent and legal resident of Karnataka.
• The parents of the bride and groom should be present at the wedding.
• This plan does not apply to those who are getting married for love.
• Marriages will be held only in selected temples under this scheme.
• The bride must be 18 years of age or older and the groom must be 21 years of age or older to avail the benefits of this scheme.
• This scheme is applicable only for Hindu marriages in the state
• To avail the benefits of this scheme, couples have to register themselves in the temple 30 days in advance with the required documents.

Application process of Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana

Interested beneficiaries will be able to apply under this scheme through the procedure given below –

• The application process for this scheme is done through offline mode. So if you want to apply under this scheme, you have to register your name in the temple selected by the government.
• Then you go to the temple near you.
• The temple authorities will give the applicant a listed form.
• The applicant has to fill in the complete details of the bride and groom in that form.
• Then the required documents mentioned in the application form should be attached to the application form.
• Then the application form has to be submitted to the temple office.
• The list of selected applicants will then be published before the due date.
