We can safely say that all the actors did a great job. Before we talk about the cast of the movie, we would like to mention some of the performances of the lead roles that we liked in the movie. Vikram as Aditya karikalan is completely flawed, and Trisha as kundabai is unbelievably phenomenal. Aishwarya Rai and Karthi get to play the most interesting characters in the movie. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks convincing his Nandini and their performance is also okay but should have been extraordinary.
Jayam Ravi as Arun mooli Burman is a surprise. His performance is very good but looks wise I was very disappointed at the start but by the end of the movie, I accepted him. Same with Aishwarya Lakshmi as most of the scenes from the book are missing as Sundar Chola is a misfit. Jayaram as Nambi is fantastic. Sharad Kumar, Pratiban, Kishore, Mohan Raman, Prabhu, Rahman, and Jaya Chitra are perfectly cast. Shobhita as one Aarti looks very artificial but her dancing skills are good though.

We can’t find the difference between VFX and reality. Sfx is as good as possible. The music is great with the mood of the film, the songs are also okay with the flow except “chola chola” songs but only “Nadi and alai kadal are good” for your playlist. Cinematography is at its best Ravi verman created world-class visuals. It is better if they re-edit the film and release it in ott as a mini series with 8 1 hour episodes.

Ponniyin Selvan Full Movie in Hindi could have been India’s GOT except for the VFX part. But it is not due to the convoluted screenplay, jerky camera work and poor action choreography. The lack of developments for the character and conflicts are too obvious. If there were some conflict and challenge during the war scenes, it would have been more interesting, but instead we get to see Aditya’s curriculum just easily defeating his enemies. Vikram doesn’t have much screen time but leaves an impact on his performance. Karthi is charming as vandhiya thevan but the dialogues are poorly written.
Jayam Ravi did the role with great control and did not fall apart like I thought while watching the trailer. I love Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but she was such a miscast for this role. First of all, her face is not what it used to be. Botox is evident and the cheeks below her eyes do not move at all. There is so much makeup on the face and it makes it difficult to think she is someone from such an ancient time. Same with Trisha minus the botox part. They are both in this movie for their beauty. Nandini should have been written better.
