The Tamil Nadu government has launched this scheme to help the citizens of the state financially. Many people have lost their jobs because of the lockdown, and so they are facing a lot of problems. The Government of Tamil Nadu will provide employment opportunities to the citizens of the state under this scheme to solve their financial problems and provide livelihood and social security through the creation and maintenance of public assets. According to official data, the government has allocated around Rs 100 crore for the implementation of the project.
The project has been launched on a pilot basis in 2021-22 as the state government will have 1 zone in each of the 14 municipal corporations in the two zones of Chennai Corporation, one municipality in 7 regions, and one panchayat in 37 districts. The state government is taking various steps to help the citizens of the state financially. The project is based entirely on the recommendations of a committee, led by C Rangarajan, former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Since the project has been launched by the Government of Rajasthan, the project is being managed by the concerned authorities of Rajasthan.
